Oh Ancient Mountains

Oh ancient mountains,

mountains of Arcadia,

proud mountains,

intractable mountains,

honorable mountains.

Honor became dear,

honor became scarce,

honor is dead.

A child suffers, my child

and fettered, I look at the fir trees;

I have no other hope except the trees.
